Did you know…?

Many high school seniors (being affected by “Senioritis”) choose NOT to apply for scholarships which require essays! Therefore, those who do apply have much higher odds of being selected, due to the small applicant pool.Be brave! Be bold! Write an essay and win big!


General Public Scholarships

BigSun Scholarship

Scholarships for Specific Majors

Dorothea Deitz Memorial Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is to provide financial assistance to selected women students planning to major in Physical Education Teacher Education.  Three scholarships will be awarded in the amounts of $6500, $5500 and $4500.  For complete details and application instructions please see the guidance office.

Eighth District Federated Garden Clubs of New York Scholarship

Kaleida Health – Critical Need Sponsored Programs

Scholarships are available to students intending to major in Nursing, Surgical Technology, Health Information Technology, Medical Lab Tech, Medical Lab Scientist, or Respiratory Therapy Tech. For High School Athletes

We are offering a $1,000 scholarship available to future college students who played sports at the high school level. This years high school seniors are eligible to apply if they will be attending college next year.

Canisius College – Schwartzott Family Scholarship

Preference will be given to students with financial need. In the cover letter, briefly highlight some of your academic achievements and significant extracurricular activities.

Erie Community College

Marist College NSF Scholarships

The Marist College NFS Scholarship is being offered to academically talented students who wish to major in Computer Science or Information Technology and Systems at Marist.  The criteria also includes, SAT scores, an essay, interview with the school, financial need, US citizenship.  Apply today with their online application at

St. John Fisher College Honors Program

Students admitted to the Honors Program at St. John Fisher require an average of 90% or higher, rank in the top 20% of their class and have an SAT score of 1100 or higher.  Students admitted in to the Honors Program will receive a $12,000 scholarship over 4 years.  Receive more information at or call (585)385-8000.

Wheelock College

All accepted freshman entering in the fall of 2010 at Wheelock College who meet the criteria of a GPA of 3.0 and 1050 SAT(CR & M) or a GPA of 3.4 and an SAT of 1150(CR & M) are eligible for a Merit Scholarship.  For more information check out their website at
